How would you feel if Federal income tax was replaced by a purchase tax(excise tax). no more under table work?

Posted by Admin in Thursday, September 22nd 2011   4 comments already

I believe this would be an increase in taxes, because all people working illegaly would now be paying taxes, & the goverment could do away with personal income tax filing and only business would need to file. No more fed tax with held from your paychecks.

Can i consolidate my private student loan into a federal, fixed rate one?

Posted by Admin in Tuesday, September 6th 2011   2 comments already

The interest rate that i have right now is way too high, and I do have good credit. I want to transfer my loan with this private company to a federal non profit one, because then I can fix a much lower interest. I want to know if there is a company like this. I have gotten a call saying it was but there was a limited time frame. Please help me out, I can’t pay the interest, and since it’s private it can change daily …

what is college stipend money for?

Posted by Admin in Thursday, August 18th 2011   1 comment so far

ok, so I enrolled in college last year. This year after my tuition was paid by my loans there was a balance left and it was sent as a stipend to my bank account. I do not understand why they would not apply it to this years classes. What is this money for? Can I use it for things besides school?
Thanks!

What can I do if my student loan grace period is expiring and I still cannot afford to pay my loans?

Posted by Admin in Friday, August 12th 2011   3 comments already

I just graduated from college this past May. My student loans are going to be due in November because my grace period will be expiring. I have applied at several places but still have not been able to find a job. I cannot afford anykind of payments at this time. I am going to need an extension on all my loan payments and was wanting to know if I should try to consolidate them first? Say, through Sallie Mae. Is it possible to consolidate and still get a payment extension? Or, should I try to get extensions now (as individual loans) and wait to consolidate until I get a job and can afford the payments?
Thanks.

Can you carry over your adoption tax credit for international adoptions?

Posted by Admin in Monday, August 8th 2011   2 comments already

We only pay about 5k in federal taxes each year – I know that it needs to be finalised before we can apply this tax credit. We are not looking to adopt a special needs child either.

Is there a political reason why senators don’t have to show personal finances but representative do?

Posted by Admin in Friday, August 5th 2011   1 comment so far

You would think they would want to know more about a public official that is in office four years and more apt to do something wrong. Considering House and Senate members split #2.4 billion in donations last year it makes you wonder. That is a lot of money and more is floating around up their that no ne acknowledges. But don’t take my word for it go to opensecrets.org and it gives a breakdown on all of them.
