Nope. It’s up to you to keep track of your transactions and card balance when using prepaid cards.

After all, they are purchased ANONYMOUSLY by you at such places – how in the world could the issuer or whatever know your name or address to send you a statement?

I work at a credit union and we can issue pre-paid visa gift cards. You might want to look at places around you and see if they offer anything like this. I am sure that they should since Visa is a world- wide accepted card. A lot of people buy these cards for themselves when they travel or buy things on line or something like that. They are the same thing as a debit card and you can put however much money you want on them. They usually don’t expire until 3 years after the issue date. What is nice about working with Visa is that you can register the card on-line and you can see your balance and your transaction history on there as well. Another thing that is nice about Visa is that they guarantee all of their transactions. So if there is fraud on the card and it is registered, then you can dispute the charges with them and they will usually reimburse you. You can also get a replacement card if it is lost or stolen. The credit union that I work at doesn’t have the option to re-load the card, but I think that they may have them other places. But you could always get a new card every time you needed it.

Also if you don’t have an account at the bank that has the cards, then they can typically give you one for a small fee. You can also try their website maybe to see if they have more info on there!
