I live in illinois and of course u can here! In fact i demand it of his father, and to be honest, his father would not have it any other way.

I pay for my own insurance and if i had to pay for my son, it would break my bank. My ex has excellent insurance so of course it was the smartest choice. Your the childs father, u should be able to provide. If not then maybe u need to move to the state u had a child in. Sounds harsh, but thats how it is.

Um..my ex is required to provide medical insurance for our daughter, through the courts, and he lives 500 miles away..4 states. It is allowed..and happens all the time. Just because a child does not live with a parent does not mean they are not still responsible for the child. If I were you I would fight this.
Good luck
Belle

It is very common for a parent to provide insurance for a child that does not reside with that parent.
You may need to talk to someone higher up in the chain than the low level person you have been talking to.
Perhaps the court order requiring you to provide health insurance will satisfy them.

health-quotes.isgreat.org – here is my health insurance plan. As I remember they can provide such a service.
