I have not kept up on all the stimulus ruling lately. It seems like he is helping everyone from prostitutes to professors. Has he mentioned anything about assistance with student loans?

Everybody wants a handout. The country (read us taxpayers) can only afford so much. We’ve already bailed out too many people. And you’re not going to be one of them. Pay off your debt and don’t expect me and other taxpayers to do it for you. Get a good job with that education you got.

Frankly, those of us overwhelmed with student loan debt are pretty much the only group of people who HAVEN’T been addressed as possible recipients of stimulus money. This country has an entire generation of people drowning in student loan debt and the government actually wants to increase that. By tightening credit restrictions and forcing new college students to seek out private loans at a higher interest rate with unsubsidized interest rates. It’s infuriating.
I’m incredibly pro-Obama, but just because I didn’t get a mortgage I knowingly can’t afford no one seems to care that I got just as laid off as someone with a mortgage and have just as high of monthly payments.
