We the people will stand up for change of the current health care system! Because Numbers don’t lie! The great problem passing heath care reform is GOOD OLD AMERICAN GREED!
US population 300,000,000 and 50,000,000 are uninsured, what is the dollar amount being spent monthly/annually for the 250,000,000 insured, that pay an average monthly premium of $500.00?
250,000,000
x 500=
$125,000,000,000.00 Billion dollars Per month
1,500,000,000,000.00 Trillion dollars Per year
This is our PROBLEM
YES, The insurance companies will be still in charge.even though they call it government plan.the people in charge are still “profit making” private insurance companies, alot of folks dont realize. There are so many doctors who went to Congress to confess, what insurance companies pay them,if they let a patient die or don’t suggest them surgery, its sad,but still congress lets it happen, because they get paid more.Drug & Insurance companies run and control congress and our country, literally!
Were not too far apart shawnwwe, lets just hope our politicians create a clean bill that actually works for a change, instead of creating another huge bloated govt dept that the people have no say in. But based on some of the plan I read so far, the insurance companies are still part of the game unfortunately.
Totally agree with you sir. Physicians are against our corrupt insurance companies and they would love to see the insurance companies vanish. A physician get his payment asap from the government when a medicaid patient is there…if you show up with your hmo coverage,or blue cross blue shield coverage, the Dr. knows he often has to battle with them to get some money….
Alot Physicians even admit, they get “seceret” bonuses,if they do not offer a patient a needed surgery. Its indeed a shame!
I agree, but our current system we have is not a system. Its shame and corrupt system we have…I am a Nurse and many physicians do not even like our system and would perfer the european system.
The biggest porblem we have in our country,is the Private Profit making insurance companies. That deny people coverage, kick them out of their coverage,or refuse to pay for certain suergeries etc…this whole co pay, deduct,in and out network crap needs to dissapear……
It was far from a blowout and I’m guessing he is going to have a hard time getting re-elected if he keeps shoving bail outs down our throats. And I didn’t care for Bush neither, if anything Ron Paul would have been a perfect president this time around, but getting the nutjobs who still think their parties represent them to vote differently, is like pulling teeth. Americans are waking up and starting to protest. Don’t believe the news that these are paid people. They are not.
I’m against it (currently) because of the lazy way our politicians have tried to notify the public. If they could have passed it before recess, they would have, but they couldn’t due to dems holding out. They don’t want us to know what the plan is about, its how govt works and no different than them giving away trillions of dollars to banks, and then holding out on who they gave it to.
If they come clean and its a good plan WE CAN AFFORD, then I’d be for it. Until then, no.
one more thing,,,remember when bush stole an election winning with only few thousand votes(manufactured) and called it a mandate? obama won 365 to 173 if this was basketball game you would say it was a blowout…
how can you be aGAINST SOMETHING that you are still learning about? this isint even been written yet…there are some proposals but no bill has been written yet,,,you undercut your argument
im all for learning about it but most of the people opposed to it are grossly misinformed,,,ie death panels rationing ect,,,
You said it yourself shawnwwe, people in other countries pay their fair share to have healthcare. The American system would not work out that way. The few would be paying for the many, including illegal aliens.
What planet are you on steewyz? Because obama proposes a healthcare plan, it doesn’t mean its a good healthcare plan. This plan has many many flaws and the people against it want to learn about it first.
And your acting like obama was voted in with 80% of the votes. He wasn’t! He was voted in with a little over 50%.
free health care … free abortions,,,free education …free cheese … free everything…. Oh Happy Day !
Vote Democrat, for a socialist utopia where everything’s free and no one has to work.
Call out in chains,
Call out Your Name,
Christ, please help those in pain who need heath care and have no money. Amen.
In Japan everyone is required to have National Health Insurance. Everything is Covered 70%. The catch is people who are not sick and also retirees have to pitch in. But nobody has to worry about Ins. Cos. or Doctors bankrupting them. Mr. Obama this is what we’re looking at.
we also elected obama BECAUSE WE WANTED HEALTHCARE FOR ALL!!!HE IS DOING EXACTLY WHAT WE ELECTED HIM TO DO,,, THINK ABOUT IT HE RAN ON THIS HEALTHCARE FOR ALL PLATFORM,,AMERICA VOTED HIM IN THE LARGEST MANDATE IN 30 YEARS,,AMERICA WANTS THIS ,,,WE VOTED FOR IT,,THOSE THAT OPPOSE IT REPRESENT A FRINGE MINORITY VIEW,,,,
where does this overwhelming faith in government come from? From what I have noticed, governments only do one thing well – kill people.
every single european country has universal healthcare for free. And its been working for them for 20 – 30 years…those nation believe in taking are of eachother,no one gets bankrupt because of an illness in those countries. They stick together and they all share their part with their taxes….We have the most corrupt system in the world. Its shame!!!
I wish he was our president.
@raughn3:
Canadian have a longer life expectancy because they are less likely to die in an accident or killed.
If you ignore the people that die in this manner, US has a higher life expectancy than Canada.
If I were to break down the survival rates for cancer and other tough disease, US is far ahead of Canada.
Checking facts between your reading of Das Kapital takes time.
Canadians have a longer life expectcy then us in america. and were ranked 50th among countries on heathcare but yet were the richest country.
i think universal healthcare would definately come in handy when we see the zombie apocolypse. we could all go to hospitals for FREE and get an anti-virus, but if not, then billions of americans would tun into flesh eating mutants. no one wants that do they? but serisously, government funded healthcare is a good idea. the swedish have been doing it for years, and they speak multiple languages and smoke marijuana.
It’s amazing how Dennis Kucinich was at the top of the polls during the 2008 primaries and disappeared from public view when he stated he would breakup the monopoly of the media. He was even uninvited from the debates and had to go to court to be in several of them. Dennis Kucinich for President in 2012.
Also, a specious argument. We don’t allow people to opt-out of paying taxes associated with the police department when they hire private security. This is because we understand that some things don’t work well in a profit-only motive (when spreading risk is reqired). It would only make sense to let you opt-out if there were some sort of guarantee that you would NEVER access it in the future; say when you lost your job and could no longer afford to pay a health plan who cherry-picks customers.
A choice between (taxpayer funded) public option and private is not letting the market decide. Nice try though. How about you let me opt-out of paying taxes to support the public option? I mean its going to be efficient right? Efficient enough to pay for itself the way private companies do?
Give people a choice between a public option and a for-profit option. Let the market decide. I thought the republican argument was that the private sector is better and more efficient at EVERYTHING. If the public option doesn’t work well, then no one will choose it. That way, no one has to move to Canada to determine what works better (“move to Canada” is just a stupid redirection that adds nothing to the debate).

Kill the 3000 pg Illega HC TAX & JAIL Trojan Horse Mandate bill nobody wants..
