I actually created my own “software”. I do some programming at work and know VB, ASP and VBA, but I ended up programming it in MS Access. I wanted my piece of software to be especially tailored to me, so I developed my own :)

It depends on what you are looking for, but I use quicken to manage my checkbook. It also has the ability to set up budgets and track investments.
