Wow , she shouldn’t even be in the tea party she should be a liberal.
It’s so rare to find a good debate these days. I’m a liberal
what an argument for pro choice…..its too expensive to keep americans healthy or alive. so why on earth to conservatives fight to have them born? so that we can let them die later? but first we can make them struggle and humiliate them for getting sick.
YES…you have to have insurance just like car insurance because when your catastrophic insurance doesnt cover your chemo, or when your private insurance drops your ass, or when you have a condition that requires long term physical therapy……it is all of our tax dollars that have to cover you!
I voted for an elected official not for a corporate CEO to regulate and make decisions for the public good. thats why its a democracy!
and honestly….this stupid girl wants women to be discriminated against because we are different??? because we procreate we should be penalized and shes willing to live with that? omg.
@zbjordan23 Exactly.
@hughster41 You may believe whatever you want about me Hugh.
I’m nice that way.
@lohkvongoethe
all I am trying to say is that if you expect a service than you should be mandated to pay for it. Its that simple. Do you not agree?
I don’t believe this noob “laleeloolelo” is an american!
@hughster41
Americans can live in other countries! My brother taught English in Taiwan for two years. What is really weird is we have thousands living in other countries. It is called MILITARY DEPLOYMENT! DAH
She’s a very pretty girl but ignorant!
@billthechief – Talking points are used in debating, and I disagree that she was ramming anything. Even if she was ‘trying to stay calm’ or ‘on the verge of taking it up a notch’ the point is that she DID stay calm and DIDNT take it up a notch. I do agree that Grayson showed great poise – I think he’s an intelligent man, My point is simply that she’s a civillian talking to a professional Politician and she did quite well. Other comments accusing her of anti-intellectualism were unfounded.
@hughster41 Whats the matter Hugh?
Do you need to see my “Long Form” birth certificate? /Sarcasm.
I’m in Indonesia as volunteer English teacher.
Oh and you still haven’t answer whether you’re the same Hugh who supported Bush 43 who passed Patriot Act and legislation to keep Terri Shiavo alive even though you claim to be against corruption and people being kept alive just for the sake of life.
You may believe that i’m a foreigner but i know a hypocrite.
@laleeloolelo -Indonesia???, you’re not even an american. Your opinion means nothing, quit wasting my time.
@lohkvongoethe I know one thing, America takes way too many drugs. I worked as an officer in the country jail for 10 years and they handed out pills like candy to the inmates at the taxpayer expense. I seldom take anything, including asprin.
@hughster41 This combined with your previous response to laleeloolelo makes me seriously doubt your grasp of the current state of antiretroviral medication, or the pharmaceutical industry in general- which directly reflects on the need for such reforms.
@hughster41 So you’re against the corruption used to pass it huh?
And you also don’t want to be kept alive just for the sake of life?
I remember back when Bush is president you’re his supporter.
Do you also feel that way when he passed Patriot Act?
Or when he signed legislation to keep Terry Schiavo alive?
Maybe i was wrong, maybe that was a different Hugh.
@laleeloolelo I am all for keeping kids alive that can live some kind of fulfilling life. I don’t believe we should keep anyone alive just for the sake of life. I know I would not want to be hooked up to tubes and machines if I was not going to recover. I am not against health care reform, I am against the corruption the democrats used to pass this crapy bill.
@hughster41 Unfortunately HIV isn’t preventable for children who are BORN WITH IT.
They require expensive ongoing treatments which i think would require more than a church bingo night.
The same thing goes for kids with genetic or pre natal disease.
Don’t you want to keep the kids alive?
I thought you don’t like “death panels” /Sarcasm,
Your illogical argument makes me think that libertarianism is to politics like “intelligent design” is to science.
@laleeloolelo , Lets talk about HIV. It’s a disease that is 99% preventable. The liberal media tried to sell the people that this was not just a gay disease but we know now that was a lie. Liberal have been teaching our children “if it feels good do it”. I can’t live other peoples lives for them, so why do I have to foot the bill for THEIR behavior? The fact is, we can’t keep everyone alive without destroying the country with debt. We all die, that is nature!
@filmmakerjoe27 – I live in the Peoples Republic of California, no guns at the local kmart. You can by guns here, but not if they LOOK military or have clips that hold more than 10 rounds. You can carry concealed weapons, if you’re a friend of the county sheriff. It’s not so much the taxes I complain about, it’s the goverment spending money that it doesn’t have and raising the debt.
@Freethought42 As nice as it is you can dig up random quotes, this comments page is about U.S. health reform, not foreign aid or housing expatriates.
@Freethought42
One of the Constitution’s drafters, James Madison, objected to this reading of the clause, arguing that it was inconsistent with the concept of a government of limited powers and that it rendered the list of enumerated powers redundant. He argued that the General Welfare clause granted Congress no additional powers other than those enumerated.
@lohkvongoethe
At the time the Constitution was adopted, some interpreted the welfare clause as granting Congress a broad power to pass any legislation it pleased, so long as its asserted purpose was promotion of the general welfare.
@Freethought42
United States Constitution; Article I, Section 8:
“The Congress shall have Power To lay and collect Taxes, Duties, Imposts and Excises, to pay the Debts and provide for the common Defence and general Welfare of the United States”
Healthcare falls very clearly into the general welfare its citizens.

HAHAHA, your killing me… too funny.
Search ‘free hospital care” you say? Are you really that informed on how life, and the internet work?
People search “free healtchcare clinics”.
IF you had any skill at the internet you would know how to research and query search engine results for popularity.
But I went to your reference site and that is for low incomemigrant workers and such. 80% of people who need healthcare benefits have jobs.
You must be a foreigner.
Try again.
