Only if you meet the qualifications and the right loan for that particular forgiveness policy.

If your loans are Stafford loans, about the only way to get those forgiven is to either 1. die (not recommended) 2. become totally disabled (totally not recommended) or 3. teach for 5 consecutive years in a low income school.

The first two obviously would not be by choice, but the third (if you choose to do it) would probably result in you either starving to death (low pay) and/or having option no 1 or 2 happen to you.

Pay on your loans, if you borrowed sensibly, you won’t starve to death and picking up a pen to write the check won’t result in no 1.
