I think they should force car insurance companies to cover people with preexisting accidents.

Watch it, some cranium challenged people will say auto insurance is required. They don’t stop long enough to think if the requirement includes people who don’t own a car or don’t drive, or own a care that is registered as “not used”. Watch the comments. lol.

Besides, auto insurance is a states issue not a fed mandate. Even LTR is monitored and enforced by the state’s police through truck stops and weight stations.

perhaps we should make a clause that states that if you dont’ want to be a part of the plan, you will never use a hospital unless you prove you have the money in the bank to pay for it before treatment…

I know, it’s so stupid. It’s like comparing the drinking age to the military recruitment age. “I can die for my country, but I can’t have a beer.” Give me a break.

I think you missed the point that NO ONE HAS A RIGHT TO OTHER PEOPLE’S SERVICES.

How is that so hard for so many to understand?!

What part of choice(to drive) or no choice( to get sick) don’t you understand?

Democrats love government force. They thrive on it. Free agency is not valued by Democrats.

No.

If you don’t drive – you will never need auto insurance.

At some point in your life you WILL need health care. Like it or not.

The two don’t compare.

Good analogy.
I like forcing everyone to pay school taxes…not just property owners. That may even be discriminatory. Penalizing one group of people for the benefit of many. Why do retiree’s pay school tax because the have a house?

If you don’t drive, you absolutely should not have to carry auto insurance.

If you do in fact choose to drive, you are required to demonstrate your ability to pay if you should cause damages.

If you inhabit a corporeal body that will someday require some sort of medical attention, you should have to carry insurance. In this case, it is utterly inevitable that some sort of damages will occur some time, so the rationale for demonstrating ability to pay should be mandatory.

That only scratches the surface of that specious argument.
Add these:
1. States do not sell Insurance. They only demand you have insurance that is purchased from private sources.
2. States have a constitutional right to make such laws. the Federal Govt. does NOT.
3. You do not not have to buy Auto insurance to cover yourself, you must buy insurance to cover only the harm you cause to others. (Except in states where no-fault insurance is the law of the land)
4. You do not, in most states, have to buy auto insurance if you can provide proof of financial responsibility adequate to cover damages you may cause. Proof of being “Self Insured” is demanded in those states.
5.You can not buy Auto Insurance to cover prior conditions. Just try to buy insurance tomorrow to cover an accident you had yesterday.
6. Not everyone is charged equally for their coverage. If you are a teen, you pay more. If you are male, you pay more. If you have a bad driving record, you pay more, if you have a valuable sports car, you pay more, etc.
7. You can be denied insurance coverage by any company that choose to not cover you and you have to pay more as you are categorized as an “Assigned Risk”.
You can’t buy across state lines because the risks change from one area to another. Even if you change addresses within your own state you are likely to be reevaluated since the risk changes. Example: If you live in Chicago, the cost is very high. The same coverage is a lot less expensive if you move well away from Chicago into a more rural suburb. How far you drive is another factor.
I’m sure there are more that you can add to this list.
