The law of supply and demand dictates, that at least to some degree, demand will go down as the price continues to go up.  And as gas prices go up, alternative energy will become more attractive.  Even now, alternative energy tends to cost more to produce than good-old-oil, so those alternative sources don&#039;t make much economic sense.

Over time, the free market can work it out just fine.</description>
